To the Parents of CMS West 8th Graders:

• Spinal screenings for abnormal curves of the spine are required by the State of Texas law (HB 832)for all 8th grade students.
• CISD Nurses will be at CMS West before spring break to screen all of the 8th graders for abnormal curves of the spine.
• For optimum results, the student will be asked to remove his/her shirt. Girls may wear a bathing suit top or sports bra under their clothing on the day of screening. Boys and girls will be screened separately. Privacy of the students will be maintained at all times.
