7th Grade Teen Screen Parent Meeting
Attention 7th grade parents:
CISD is offering parents of 7th graders the opportunity to have their children participate in a wellness check-up called TeenScreen. Teen Screen is a nationally-recognized program developed by Columbia University to identify risk factors associated with depression, anxiety, and alcohol and substance abuse.
The program is free and completely voluntary and confidential.
Please join us for an informational parent meeting explaining how TeenScreen is used to identify students who may be in need of mental health support.
WHEN: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4 AT 6:30 PM
WHERE: COPPELL HIGH SCHOOL ARENA
Speakers
Lisa Pederson, Youth Programs Coordinator for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will provide parents with an understanding of the statistics about youth and mental illness and the importance of addressing concerns early.
Jennifer Huynh, Director of the Teens Can Survive Program, at the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas will be sharing the history and procedures of TeenScreen and how TeenScreen is used to identify students who may be in need of mental health support. Early identification can help them become well rounded teens and young adults.
